Tournament Format

  • 60 minutes per round
Deck Regulation
  • Modified 2 Deck format.
  • Restriction & errata list will follow what is on the officialBushiroad website.
  • ONLY English edition cards can be used.
  • Fighters are required to use opaque card sleeves so that the back of cards cannot be easily distinguished.
  • Your initial Vanguard must have the same sleeve as your main deck.
  • You must use different card sleeves from your deck for your G Unit sand gift markers.
  • Standard Size sleeve (Weiss Schwarz size) will NOT be accepted as the inner layer as card might move around, which may result in marking/cheating.
  • A maximum of 2 layers of sleeving is allowed. the outer layer must be clear and see through and out sleeves with borders are acceptable as long as it does not obstruct text.
  • Please bring at least a set of new sleeves just in case they are damaged during the tournament.

What is modified 2 deck format?

Players will be required to bring a Standard format deck and a Premium Standard format deck to the tournament. The two decks must be of different
clans.

Example:

Player A:

STANDARD: Oracle Think Tank

PREMIUM: Bermuda Triangle

This is allowed.

Player B:

STANDARD: Bermuda Triangle

PREMIUM: Bermuda Triangle

This is not allowed.

What is Modified best of 3?

Players will play their best of 3 games as follows:

  • Game 1: Standard format
  • Game 2: Premium format
  • Game 3: Standard format

Players will need 2 wins to proceed to the next stage. If one player has won both of the first 2 games, a third game will not be played.

End of Time Procedure

Players will be given 3 extra turns to complete their game. If the game is not completed upon the conclusion of the third extra turn, the player with the lowest number of cards in his/her damage zone wins. If this number is the same for both players, the game will proceed into “sudden death”(whenever the number of cards in a damage zone increases or decreases, players compare the number of cards in their damage zones. The player with fewer cards wins). If time is called and both players have won an equal number of games, players will play a third game with 10 extra minutes before continuing to end of time procedures.

Tardiness

If a player fails to appear at his/her seat within 5 minutes of the beginning of the round, that player will be given a game loss.

Tournament Format

Deck Regulation
  1. Decks must be Neo-Standard.
  2. Players are required to use opaque card sleeves so that the back of cards cannot be easily distinguished.
  3. A maximum of 2 layers of sleeving is allowed. the outer layer must be clear and see through and outer sleeves with borders are acceptable as long as it does not obstruct text.
  4. Please bring at least a set of new sleeves just in case they are beingdamaged during the tournament.
  5. English or Japanese edition cards may be used. All 50 cards in aplayer’s deck must be of the same language.
  6. Players must follow the banlist of the language their deck is in.
Time-up policy

Players will be given 10 minutes to finish 3 extra turns. After 10 minutes, the game will be decided by sudden death (after a change in either player’s damage, the player on lower damage wins the game).

Tardiness

If a player fails to appear at his/her seat within 5 minutes of thebeginning of the round, that player will be given a game loss.

What is the Revival Bracket?

The revival bracket rule is used in the WGP, and will be used in this tournament. Commonly referred to in the west as the “diversity” top cut, we will explain how it works as follows:

  • After the final round, all players who have 0 losses will automatically progress to the top cut.
  • The last slots will be filled by players with 1 loss, who are playing a title that is not already in the top cut. This will be done via standing order.
  • If none of the above is the case, the rest of the top cut will be filled by players based on standings.

Example 1:
TCG Example 1

From the picture above, players with 5 wins make it to top cut. However, Alan, Kevin and Daniel also make it because their respective titles are not already in top cut. Kai and Jonathan do not make it in, as their title was already in the top cut. Matt misses out, because due to standings, another Haruhi has already been placed in top cut. Unluckily, although Kemtaro plays a series that is not in the top cut, the top cut has already been filled so he does not make it in.

Example 2:
TCG Example 2

In this example, all the undefeated players make it into top cut. However, although Kemtaro is the last person in standings with a 1 loss record, he makes it into top cut as he is the only player who is not playing Sword Art Online. Then going by standing order, Kai and Alan make it in top cut as they are the highest ranked players with a 1 loss record playing Sword Art Online.
