Cosplay competitions, for many, are the highlight of a convention – there is nothing like performing on stage as your favourite character! Perhaps you want to enter for the very first time – or maybe you’ve been entering at a local level and wish to aim for a national or international award? As an performer in competitions across the country, and in Japan, I have learnt a great deal about what is, and isn’t effective in a cosplay skit. From conceiving ideas, script writing, sound editing and rehearsing, you will be able to learn a great deal of ways in which you can improve you next entry. I hope that by sharing my experience, you will be able to present a much more polished and crowd pleasing result.
